Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Golem Works ("the Service"), operated by Golem Works ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Golem Works is an AI-powered storytelling platform that provides:

  • AI-generated long-form story creation
  • Multi-voice audiobook narration with text-to-speech
  • World-building tools for managing fictional characters, locations, items, and other entities
  • Campaign management and entity relationship tracking

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under it. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

We reserve the right to approve, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion. New accounts may require admin approval before gaining full access.

4. Subscription and Payments

The Service is offered as a monthly subscription at $10/month, processed through Paddle.com (our Merchant of Record). By subscribing, you authorize recurring monthly charges. Your subscription includes monthly generation credits for AI story generation, text-to-speech, and image creation.

Additional credit packs may be purchased separately. Credit costs are displayed before each generation action. Purchased credits roll over month to month. Promotional credits do not roll over between billing periods.

All payments are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all payment processing, invoicing, sales tax, and VAT collection on our behalf. By making a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create using the Service, including stories, character descriptions, world-building data, and other creative works ("User Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the Service to you.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and must ensure it does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate stories, audio narration, and other content. AI-generated content may not always be accurate, appropriate, or free of errors. You are responsible for reviewing and editing all AI-generated content before use.

We do not guarantee the originality of AI-generated content and make no representations regarding intellectual property rights in such content.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to generate illegal, harmful, or abusive content
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or credit systems
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service beyond normal use
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the Service in a manner that disrupts or overburdens our infrastructure
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent

8. Availability and Modifications

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes when possible.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Golem Works and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other proprietary materials.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or service interruptions.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases, but we will make your User Content available for export for a reasonable period.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
